Description of Tretinoin:

Tretinoin, the pharmaceutical form of retinoic acid helps to decrease the  oil produced by the glands in the skin, which allows the skin to heal much faster. It helps in the treatment of acne, fine wrinkles, dark spots or rough skin on the face caused by damaging rays of the sun. It works by lightening the skin, replacing older skin with newer skin, and by slowing down the way the body removes skin cells that may have been harmed by the sun.

Mechanism of action for Tretinoin:

Tretinoin the active ingredient of Retino A cream promotes detachment of cornified cells and the enhanced shedding of corneocytes from the follicle. By increasing the mitotic activity of follicular epithelia, tretinoin also increases the turnover rate of thin, loosely-adherent corneocytes. Through these actions, the comedo contents are extruded and the formation of the microcomedo, the precursor lesion of acne vulgaris, is reduced.

Dosage Information for Tretinoin:

Tretinoin is available as cream form of Retino A. Retino A Cream is available as 0.025% w/w and 0.05% w/w form. For using the medication, wash your hands and face properly with soap and water.
