Initially, a patient with Parkinson's disorder should take 0.375 mg of Mirapex per day in three divided doses. The dose of this medicine should be gradually increased every 5 to 7 days to the maintenance dose of 1.5 to 4.5 mg of Mirapex per day administered in equally divided doses every 8 hours. The dose recommended for the treatment of restless legs syndrome (RLS) is 0.125 mg of Mirapex taken orally once daily 2-3 hours before bedtime. The patients who require additional symptomatic relief should enhance the dose in every 4-7 days.

What are the contraindications of Mirapex?

  • The use of Mirapex is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to generic Pramipexole or other ingredients of Mirapex.
  • The use of Mirapex is contraindicated in patients who are suffering from any of these medical cases including severe renal impairment, hypotension, or troubles controlling the muscle movements.
